This winterjacket made from „boiled wool“ comes from Kalotaszeg, a Hungarian region in the northwestern part of Transilvania. This region is famous for its traditonal clothing.

A great collection is to be found in the ethnographic museum in Budapest. The jacket is garnished with machine sewn threading and finishing. The mark up of the button holes with the help of green and as well as red stiching is typical for the region. As well as the small leather applications on the sleeves. The geometrically green checkered fluffy inner lining represents a nice contrast.

The national costumes display next tot hier lavish decor and their asthetic expertise a strong relationsship with architectural shapes along with the idea of constructivisme underlined by the sheer volume and firmness of the material. The jacket is from the 30ties of last century.
