Pajaki from Kraków, South Poland


Pajaki is called “spider” in Polish. We find this association with the marvelous papermaking only partly true. These colorful parts are not scary at all. The first Pajakis appeared in the rural areas of Poland in the middle of the 19th century. Paljakis are part of the Christmas and Easter decorations, but they also spend the whole year in houses to the delight of their inhabitants.

Size: diameter about 60 cm, height: ca. 90 cm. Made of crepe paper and straws
