Muñecas have a long tradition in Bolivia. The ethnological museum in La Paz has a large collection of such muñecas that shows a good range through the population Bolivia. Women and men in the festives costumes of the various regions, figures of festivals and rituals, but also professions are depicted as puppets. They were not only for the children. Bolivia and Peru are next to Guatemala, the countries with the largest percentage of indigenous population worldwide. In Bolivia, about one third of the population is part of the Aymara or Quechua.
