This headcloth was probably made by a lady from the Miao people of Giuzhou. The headcloths from this area are embroidered representations of the Miao´s view on their universe, illustrated in cross stiches. Fishes and other water creatures for example are reminders of Miao ancestral lands near major rivers. Fruits and flowers are symbols of fertility
