Real batik textile from Sri Lanka

The technique of Batik was brought by dutch traders from Indonesia to Sri Lanka. Batik is a Javanese word that translates as “writing in wax.” Each step in the process is done by hand. After the drawing with a pencil comes the application of hot wax and then  the dyeing begins, and after removal from the dye the wax has to be remove. A lot of work for special textiles.
