This handmade blockprinted bedcover is a typical work from Iran. They call it Kalamkari. The word is derived from the Persian words ghalam, means “pen” and kari, means “craftmanship”, so together the meaning is: Drawing with a pen or even as block-print. It is also known as Kalamkari in India. Hometown of this art is Isfahan. This piece is made during the big years of Kalamkari production during 1950-1970.
