Silk kurta from Uzbekistan


These kind of Kurta was worn by men as an undergarmet for chapans.  It has a classical t-shape, extra long and wide arms that are supposed to be seen under the mantle. The geometric ikat design is typical for the Ikat dresses from the beginning of the 20th Century, probably it´s origin is Samarkand.

I quarter 20. century; fabric: Adras with cotton/ silk, real Ikat

All sizes from 36 -44, Lenght 120 cm
