Uigur silk ikat tunica from Xinjiang

These silk tunics were made in Germany from the current silk fabrics of the Uyghur women from the Chinese province of Xinjiang. They use these fabrics to sew their clothes. Unlike as in Uzbekistan, the Uyghur women still wear, whether rich or poor, dresses made out of real silk. Most of them prefer patterned fabrics with traditional motifs, like the classic peacock feather motif and different Ikat patterns.
