This hand crafted plate comes from the famous pottery workshop of the Ilyés Vészti Mihály family in Corund, Transylvania. Corund is a commune in  Harghita County, Romania. It lies in the Szélely Land, an ethno-cultural region in eastern Transylvania, in the “Salt Region” (Ținutul Sării or Sóvidék). Corund is famous for its pottery and ceramics and beside of Horezu the other great pottery center in Romania. This community of Hungarian origin, also called Erdely, has a close connection with Transylvania.

The plate is 26 cm in diameter, high 8 cm
